Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna, in collaboration with BOI and WKO, organized "Doing Business: Thailand" Seminar to promote Thai–Austrian Trade and Investment Opportunities

On 1 July 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna, in collaboration with the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) in Frankfurt and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO), organized a seminar titled "Doing Business: Thailand" at the WKO Headquarters in Vienna. The event was attended by representatives from over 50 Austrian companies across various sectors, who wish to gain insights into Thailand’s economic potential, investment opportunities, and the future outlook for business cooperation between Thailand and Austria.

On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to Austria, delivered opening remarks emphasizing that Thailand remains a reliable economic partner and reaffirming the country's steadfast commitment to supporting the free trade system. She also highlighted Thailand's readiness in transport, logistics, digital infrastructure, and clean energy, which reinforce its strong position as a regional hub for manufacturing and investment. The Ambassador invited the Austrian business community to expand their collaboration with Thailand by synergizing Austria's strengths in innovation and technology with Thailand's robust manufacturing base and strategic geographical location.

In addition, Mrs. Romrawee Chandrasen, Consul (Investment Promotion) at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Frankfurt, whose jurisdiction is accredited to Austria, presented a comprehensive briefing on Thailand's investment promotion policies, incentives, and targeted industries. This was complemented by a panel discussion and a Q&A session, during which representatives from Austrian companies already operating in Thailand shared their experiences, best practices, and perspectives on conducting business in the country.

The seminar successfully enhanced the understanding of the Austrian business community regarding Thailand’s economic capabilities. It provided a valuable platform for the exchange of insights and networking between public and private entities from both countries. The event also reflected the strong interest of the Austrian private sector in exploring trade and investment avenues in Thailand, serving as a foundation for further elevating Thai–Austrian economic cooperation in the future.
