Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna hosted “Bloom & Bond”: An Exclusive Showcase of Thai SELECT Excellence

On 29 April 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna, in collaboration with the Office of Thai Trade Center Vienna, hosted “Bloom & Bond: An Exclusive Showcase of Thai SELECT Excellence” at the Royal Thai Residence.

Many foreign Ambassadors to Austria and Permanent Representatives to the United Nations Office in Vienna and other International Organizations with spouses, diplomats, business peoples as well as dignitaries more than 70 persons attended the event. In her opening remarks, H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand, expressed that the event arranged in the garden amidst the beautiful spring reflected the warmth of the friendship that Thailand has built with the international community over the decades. It also helped increasing of awareness and visibility on uniqueness of the Thai food and culture while Thailand has engaged in the international stages. The latest pro-active roles include the co-hosting of the OSCE Asian Conference in Bangkok (28–29 May 2026) with Finland and the OSCE, and Thailand’s candidacy to host the headquarters of the UNCITRAL Advisory Centre on International Investment Dispute Resolution (ACIIDR) in Bangkok.

The highlight of the event was introducing the Thai SELECT award and official launch of Thai SELECT brochure which is a guide to the Thai SELECT restaurants in Austria with QR codes linking directly to each restaurant. The guests were then invited to the garden of the Royal Thai Residence for a reception featuring live cooking by the Residence's chef and food stalls from seven Thai SELECT restaurants: All Reis, Aroi Thai Restaurant, Mamamon/Sipsong Bar, Muang Thai Street Food, Patara Fine Thai Cuisine, Pumpui, and SOM Kitchen.

Thai SELECT is a certification programme administered by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand. It is awarded to the Thai restaurants worldwide that meet standards in authentic Thai cuisine, ingredients, cooking methods, and service serving as a trusted guide for food lovers seeking a genuine Thai dining experience abroad.
