Ambassador presided over the Opening Ceremony of “Bezaubernd & Schön – Thailand – Tag der Kultur” Thai Cultural Festival Organized by the Thai Smile Vienna Cultural Association
On April 12, 2025, Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to Austria, presided over the opening ceremony of the Thai Cultural Festival "Bezaubernd & Schön – Thailand – Tag der Kultur" (Charming & Beautiful – Thailand – Culture Day) organized by the Thai Smile Vienna Cultural Association at the VHS Kulturgarage – Seestadt in Vienna. Mr. Ernst Nevrivy, the District Chairman of Vienna's 22nd District (Bezirkvorsteher Donaustadt), also attended the opening ceremony.
This year is the Association’s third edition of the Thai Cultural Festival with objective to promote Thai culture to a wider audience in Austria and to strengthen the unity and solidarity of the Thai community residing in Vienna.
The event featured a variety of activities, including Thai classical dance performances, Thai musical performances, booths selling Thai handicrafts, and Thai food, which are very popular among Austrians.
The Thai Smile Vienna Association invited the Burapha Group, a Thai cultural performance troupe comprising of Thai youths from the cultural network of Burapha University, Phibunbumpen Demonstration School (Faculty of Education, Burapha University), Wat Sing School, Suankularb Wittayalai School, Pra Ya Prasert Suntharasai School (Krajang Singhaseni), Bodindecha (Sing Singhaseni) School, Thepleela School, Ban Bang Kapi School, Satri Ang Thong School, Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts, and Thai Kid Group, to perform Thai classical dances and music throughout the event. Notably, some of these young performers are winners of various performance awards, including from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. This talented group of young people greatly impressed the visitors of the event.
