Handover of literature on Buddhism to the Buddhist Association of Austria (ÖBR)
On 3 July 2017, H.E. Mr. Songsak Saicheua, Ambassador of Thailand to Austria, handovered 100 copies of the “Buddhist Psychology”, a book translated from original work in Thai by His Holiness Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the late Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, to Mr. Gerhard Weißgrab, President of the Buddhist Association of Austria (Österreichischen Buddhistischen Religionsgesellschaft: ÖBR). The ÖBR will subsequently deliver these books to the Hilton Hotel Vienna to be placed in its guest rooms. The books have been kindly provided to the Royal Thai Embassy by Venerable Dr. Phra Shakyavongsvisuddhi of Bowornniwet Wihara Temple in Bangkok.
On the same occasion, the Ambassador also presented a Buddha image and a book titled “the Collected Teachings of Ajahn Chah” to the library of the ÖBR.
