On June 29th, Ambassador Sriswasdi visited Upper Austria Region and had productive discussions with Mr. Wolfgang Stanek, President of the State Parliament, during which both sides exchanged views on the COVID-19 situation in Thailand and Austria, as well as the role of the Parliament in the crisis. Other topics of discussions include BCG economic model, Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, alternative development projects in Thailand, cooperation in agricultural sector and tourism, "Thai Select" award for Thai restaurants, as well as Austrian investment in Thailand.
Ambassador Sriswasdi also met with Mr. Florian Hiegelsberger, Head of International Relations amd Protocol at the State Office, as representative of the Governor. Both sides exchanged views on the Austrian investment in Thailand and impact of the COVID-19 to businesses and tourism.
Ambassador Sriswasdi also informed the state Office about Thailand's economic situation, the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and the importance of BCG economy as a model for sustainable development, as well as Thai Select" award for Thai restaurants in the region.
The visit to Upper Austria is part of the Ambassador's programme to strengthen cooperation with local governments, parliaments and private sectors in different regions. She visited Carinthia region in March. Earlier this month she also visited Burgenland and Styria regions and plans to visit Vorarlberg region next month.
