On 28 March 2024, Ambassador Vilawan Mangklatanakul hosted a lunch and chaired the 1st Team Thailand Meeting of 2024 at the Royal Thai Residence in Vienna, which was attended by representatives from the Team Thailand agencies and the Embassy’s officers.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views and information on political and economic development in Austria, Slovenia, and Slovakia, as well as reported the progresses made on activities during the past budgetary year. While focusing on strengthening collaboration between agencies, the Team Thailand also discussed important projects for the year 2024 including exchanges of researchers, trade and tourism promotion, and other soft power activities such as fashion. Ambassador Mangklatanakul sincerely expressed appreciation to the Team Thailand for their good and close cooperation. The Ambassador also stressed the importance of synergy among the Team Thailand agencies, expansion of the activities on a wider scale, and exchanges of information and inventories.
On the same day before the meeting, Ambassador Mangklatanakul led the Team Thailand for a study visit to the Lichtenegg Energy Research Park, which is an independent measuring and testing facility for small wind turbines established in 2011 as part of a research project funded by the Climate and Energy Fund. To date, the Enercon-66 wind turbine supplies green energy for more than 750 households in the vicinity.
