Promoting Muay Thai as Thailand's Soft Power at Amazing Muay Thai Event in Slovakia
On March 29, 2025, Ambassador Pattarat Hongtong of Thailand, attended the "Amazing Muay Thai Event" in Trenčin, Slovakia, at the invitation of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Prague Office.
During the event, the Ambassador presented the World Muaythai Council (WMC) Title Belt at 54 kg to Ms. Monika Chochlíková, the winner of the competition. Monika Chochlíková, competed against Somsrasmi Manopgym, a renowned female Muay Thai fighter from Thailand and winner of various Muay Thai titles. The event drew a crowd of over 1,600 spectators, including Slovakians and international visitors.
The Ambassador's participation was part of an effort to promote cultural tourism and Muay Thai as Thailand’s Soft Power on the international stage. Muay Thai is not only a martial art but also a cultural heritage that reflects the country’s long history and strong spirit of the Thai people. Promoting Muay Thai overseas not only promote Thai culture but also encourages deeper understanding between people from different countries.
