The Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna Promotes Thai Cuisine in Slovenia under the Theme “Confluence of Flavour”

On 5 November 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna, in collaboration with the Honorary Consulate-General in Ljubljana, organized a reception to promote Thai cuisine in Slovenia under the theme “Confluence of Flavour.” The event took place at Chuty’s Thai Restaurant in Ljubljana, which has been awarded the Thai SELECT certification recognizing Thai restaurants abroad that maintain authentic Thai ingredients, taste and high-quality standards.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Melita Gabrič, State Secretary for Multilateral, Political Affairs and Development Assistance, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia, together with ambassadors, senior representatives from the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, as well as members of the public and private sectors in Slovenia.

On this occasion, Ambassador Pattarat Hongtong delivered welcoming remarks emphasizing determination to strengthen close and cordial relations between Thailand and Slovenia. She also highlighted the importance of “gastrodiplomacy” as a way to connect cultures and foster closer understanding between the peoples of both nations through the universal language of food.

The reception was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The guests enjoyed authentic Thai dishes and exchanged views on potential cooperation between Thailand and Slovenia in various areas. The event underscored the influence of cultural diplomacy through gastronomy as an instrument for friendship and mutual indulgence between the peoples.
