ASEAN Business Circle Seminar

On 19 May 2016 H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Austria, attended “ASEAN Business Circle” Seminar, organized by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and Advantage Austria.

Ambassador Arthayudh Srisamoot delivered a short speech to 60 Austrian business people highlighting Thailand’s strategic location at the heart of Southeast Asia and at the crossroads of Asia with easy access to the region’s dynamic markets of 600 million people, the world’s seventh largest economy. Thai economy is projected to grow by 2.8-3.8% this year, with supporting factors such as improved exports, revival in tourism with the total of 29.9 million visitors in 2015, increasing private investment, and forecast improvement of the global economy. Moreover, Thailand offers world-class infrastructure with 7 international airports/ modern city-wide mass transit in Bangkok/ broadband access nationwide/ and 6 deep sea ports and 2 international river ports. Thailand also offers well-defined investment policies under the Seven Year Investment Strategy (2015-2021) and key policies have also been introduced to promote quality growth and investment such as Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Infrastructure Development Plan, Digital Economy, Reforming the Energy Sector, International Headquarters (IHQ) and International Trading Centers (ITC) and Connectivity.
