Thai Cultural Night in Vienna
On Monday, 30th May 2016 at Strauss Hall, Kursalon, Vienna, H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Ambassador of Thailand to Austria, presided over the opening ceremony of the Thai Cultural Night in Vienna on Monday, 30th May 2016. The Thai Cultural Night was jointly organized by the Royal Thai Embassy and the Ministry of Culture of Thailand and the Royal Thai Embassies in Visegrád 4. The event is aimed to promote Thai culture in foreign countries. Moreover, diplomatic corps in Vienna, Austria’s high ranking officials and business people as well as Thai community in Vienna attended the Thai Cultural Night to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the Seventieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne.
Highlights of the Thai Cultural Night included cultural performances from the Bandit Pattana Silp Institute such as Sat Chatri Dance, Khon : “The Persuit of Supanamatcha”, Apsara Borworn Suthawas Dance, Traditional Thai Boxing, Manohra in her Sacrifice Dance, Coconut Shell Dance and the Traditional Thai Puppet from Sakorn Hunlakornlek. Moreover, there were 3 stations of Thai fine craftmanship demonstrating Khon masks paintings, gold lacquering and mother of pearl inlaying from artists of the Office of Traditional Arts, the Fine Arts Department.
