The Royal Thai Embassy organised a volunteer activity at the Caritas Foundation’s Day-care Centre at Vienna’s Main Train Station (Tageszentrum der Caritas am Wiener Hauptbahnhof) on the occasion of the National Day of Thailand 2019
On 23 December 2019, H.E. Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi together with officials of the Royal Thai Embassy and representatives of the Thai Community in Vienna participated in a volunteer activity at the Caritas Foundation’s Day-care Centre at Vienna’s Main Train Station (Tageszentrum der Caritas am Wiener Hauptbahnhof) on the occasion of the National Day of Thailand 2019, the Birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Thailand’s Father Day. Lunch, consisted of Thai food and sweets, was provided for approximately 200 homeless people who visited the Centre.
The Caritas Foundation Day-care Centre provided services to the homeless people in Vienna, most came from eastern European countries. They can come to use the Centre’s facility where they can rest, have a meal, take a shower, wash their clothes, as well as receive advice on how they could cease to be homeless person. The Centre operates daily from 8 – 18 hrs all year round.
