On 6-7 Sept., Ambassador Sriswasdi visited Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, capital city of Carinthia region, and paid a courtesy call on Mr. Christian Scheider, Mayor of Klagenfurt.
On 6-7 Sept., Ambassador Sriswasdi visited Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, capital city of Carinthia region, and paid a courtesy call on Mr. Christian Scheider, Mayor of Klagenfurt. Both sides discussed how to further promote bilateral cooperation between Thailand and the city of Klagenfurt in various aspects, in particular, through economic, social and cultural cooperation, such as investment promotion and Thai food festival, to further strengthen people-to-people contact. They also exchanged information regarding COVID-19 situation and its impact on business and tourism sectors.
Ambassador Sriswasdi also met and had productive discussions with many high-level representatives of the region such as Mr. Reinhart Rohr, President of the Carinthian Parliament / Mr. Max Habenicht, Klagenfurt City Councillor (economy and tourism) / Ms. Sandra Wassermann, Klagenfurt City Councillor (construction, infrastructure and public transport) / Dr. Julia Löschnig, Member of the Klagenfurt Municipal Council / Mr. Otmar Petschnig, Vice Preisdent of the Carinthian Chamber of Commerce and French Honorary Consul in Carinthia.
Ambassador Sriswasdi, together with “Team Thailand” from the Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna, also attended a trade and investment promotion event “Sou’East Business Stage” organised by the private sector in Austria, in collaboration with the city of Klagenfurt and the Carinthian Chamber of Commerce. The event is attended by private sector from Thailand, Vietnam, Austria, Germany, among others, and served as a forum for exchanging of information, networking and exploring business opportunities in Thailand and in Austria, as well as ASEAN and Europe. Ambassador Sriswasdi addressed the audience at the opening session by providing information regarding business recovery in Thailand, trade flow and economic assessment, the Government’s stimulus measures and important policy, especially the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Project and the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economic model. She also presented strengths and advantages of doing business in Thailand which enjoys the strategic location at the heart of mainland South-East Asia.
