On 24 June 2022, Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, together with Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi and the Thai delegation, had a courtesy meeting with Mr. Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs of Austria, at the Federal Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Austria, at the margins of the First Meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), hosted by the Austrian government in Vienna, where Mr. Thongphakdi headed the Thai delegation.

Both sides exchanged views on various issues regarding Thailand-Austria cooperation both at the bilateral and multilateral fronts. Both sides also had fruitful discussions on global and regional issues, such as the situation  in Ukraine and Myanmar, the Indo-Pacific region, and Thailand’s Presidency of APEC this year.

Later in the afternoon, Mr. Thongpahkdi met with Mr. Alexander Rozin, Honorary Consul-General of Thailand in Bratislava, Slovakia, to discuss achievements and on going works related to consular service and protection of Thai nationals in Slovakia.
