Volunteer Activity on the Auspicious Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, 28 July 2026, at Carla – the social enterprise store of the Caritas Foundation
On 24 July 2026, H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to Austria, together with officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna, carried out a volunteer activity under the project "Dust Off, Donate, and Share Happiness" to commemorate the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn on 28 July 2026.
As part of the activity, the Embassy collected gently used items from the homes of its personnel and offices and donated them to Carla, the sorting centre and social enterprise store of the Caritas Foundation.
Caritas Austria is a charitable organization dedicated to assisting low-income individuals, disadvantaged and socially vulnerable groups, as well as refugees living in Austria. The donated items will be resold at affordable prices to support people with limited financial means or distributed free of charge to those affected by disasters and other humanitarian crises. Proceeds from the sales, after operating expenses, are used to support Caritas Austria's social welfare programmes. The initiative also promotes the sustainable reuse of resources, reduces waste, extends the life of reusable items, and creates employment opportunities for disadvantaged members of society.
