Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi attended and delivered opening remarks at the “Thai SELECT 2022” event, organised by the Thai Trade Center, Vienna

On 7 Sept. 2022 Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi attended and delivered opening remarks at the “Thai SELECT 2022” event, organised by the Thai Trade Center, Vienna, to promote Thai food businesses abroad in accordance with the “Thai Kitchen to the World” policy of the Royal Thai Government.

This year, we also launched and promoted the Thai “Hom Mali” rice from the North-Eastern region of Thailand. This “Hom Mali” rice under the brand "Srisangdao" received the protected geographical indication standard from the European Union (EU) and was imported to the Austrian market (and the EU market) for the first time!

Currently, there are 16 “Thai SELECT restaurants” in Austria (14 in Vienna) with 2 new restaurants in Vienna who are in the process of qualifying for the Thai SELECT award.
