Thai Ambassador promotes close cooperation with Austria to enhance skilled labor capabilities
On 18 March 2025, H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to Austria, met with Mr. Georg Konetzky, Director General, Department of National Market Strategies, Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy. During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing skilled labor capabilities to support Thailand’s sustainable economic growth, particularly in green technology sector where Austria excels. Austrian companies operating in Thailand could be advantageous from access to greater amount of skilled Thai workers tailored to their needs. The discussion also focused on pursuing the outcomes of the 3rd Meeting of the Joint Working Group (JWG) on vocational education and training. Future collaborations can be expanding to vocational education initiatives, include facilitating personnel training in Austria, and implementing train-the-trainer programs. By enhancing the Thai workers’ skills to meet Austrian and EU standards, Thailand aims to significantly boost its competitiveness and attract more foreign investment.
