On 1 June 2022, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi, together with senior representatives, researchers and experts from the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Office, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Faculty of Medecine – Siriraj Hospital, visited the Research Center for Pharmaceutical Engineering (RCPE) in Graz, Austria.

The delegation was briefed on activities and research projects at the RCPE in different areas, namely (1) Modeling and prediction (2) Advanced drug delivery research (platforms and work flows) and (3) Process and manufacturing science (advanced quality control). The delegation also visited the laboratory for Continuous Flow Synthesis and Processing (CC FLOW) at the Kappe Laboratory where they were briefed by Professor Oliver Kappe, head of the Kappe Laboratory.

Both sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of scientific and pharmaceutical engineering researches, as well as development of pharmaceutical industry and exchange of students/researchers between the two countries. Both sides also agreed to exchange visits to further study research projects in Austria and Thailand, with a view to enhance cooperation in specific areas of mutual interest in the near future.

RCPE is a world leading research center on pharmaceutical engineering with numerous scientific publications and research networks in many countries, with close collaboration with private sectors and leading pharmaceutical companies around the world.
