Ambassador had a discussion with the Executive Director of UNODC
On 19 January 2023, Mrs. Vilawan Mangklatanakul, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations in Vienna, paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Ghada Fathi Waly, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna and Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
On this occasion, the Executive Director expressed her determination to continue working with the Permanent Mission and Thai agencies concerned in related areas such as Alternative Development, improvement of living conditions of people in custody, the use of sports as a tool for crime prevention, the elaboration of a new cybercrime convention, and border management to counter illegal trafficking. The Ambassador, in turn, expressed her readiness to build on the work of her predecessors in cooperation with UNODC, and of the Thai delegation to participate actively and constructively in the related fora.
