Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi presented her credentials to the Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO)

On 10 May 2019, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, presented her credentials to Dr. Lassina Zerbo, Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).  As Permanent Representative of of Thailand to the CTBTO, Ambassador Sriswasdi pledged to further Thailand’s constructive engagement with the CTBTO on all relevant matters. They discussed about the cooperation between Thailand and CTBTO, whose two monitoring stations under the International Monitoring System (IMS) are located in Thailand. The two sides also exchanged views regarding capacity building for Thai experts as well as awareness raising about the CTBT among younger generations. 

Thailand deposited its instrument of ratification for the CTBT in September 2018, and became the 167th State to ratify the Treaty.
